Lectures

Each year The Arts Society Beckenham has a programme of 10 morning lectures which are held on the first Thursday of each month.  There is no lecture in January or August.  

Lectures start at 10.30am and are held in the Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road, Beckenham. 

Lectures cover a wide range of subjects, encompassing art, architecture, ceramics, glass, textiles and much more.  Please Click on the Lectures tab above to see details of our current Lecture programme.

Study Tours

We run a Study Tour which augments the lecture programme by providing the opportunity to study a subject in greater depth.  Please Click on the link above to see our planned Study sessions.

Day Visits

We organise a number of Day Visits to places of artistic or architectural interest. Details of forthcoming visits can be found under the Visits and Tours link above.

Tours

We organise a cultural tour each year, either in the UK or abroad, to augment our programme of lectures, study days and cultural day visits.  

Social Events

We organise Social events during the year where members of the Society and their guests can get together in a relaxed way.

Tickets

Unless otherwise stated, tickets for Visits and Study Days are only available to members of The Arts Society Beckenham and are available at lectures 3 months before the event.  Refunds for unused tickets are not available but they can be sold on to other members if the visit is over-subscribed. They can also be bought direct from the Visits Secretary, contact details are shown on your membership card or email lesleytasb@outlook.com

Heritage Volunteering

Heritage volunteering meets an essential aim of The Arts Society,  as part of their commitment to heritage conservation.  This Society has a tradition of providing volunteers and a number of our members are currently taking part. Young Arts

The Arts Society societies play a vital role introducing children to the arts through its Young Arts projects and The Arts Society Beckenham has supported Young Arts projects for a number of years.  For more information and pictures of past projects please see the Young Arts Section under Volunteering.
